Eight kilometres of coastal trail between rainforest and reef. Entry is by donation and the community runs it.
Kayaking at Punta Uva
A calm river heading into the rainforest. If you are lucky you will spot sloths, otters and green macaws.
Gandoca-Manzanillo
Primary forest and turquoise coves. The hike to Punta Mona is the wildest walk around here.
Caribbean food
Rice and beans in coconut milk, rondón and pati. The Afro-Caribbean heritage of Limón on a plate.
The bike ride
Puerto Viejo to Manzanillo along the coast. Thirteen flat kilometres with a beach stop every few minutes.
Bribri cacao tour
Harvesting and processing organic cacao with Bribri families. It ends with freshly made chocolate.
